Exploring the real estate market with Housie requires trust in how we handle your information. This Privacy Notice explains how Housie Inc. (“Housie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use our websites, mobile applications, and proprietary property data tools (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you participate in a data-driven ecosystem designed to simplify your real estate journey. We believe you should control how your information is used within that system.
1. Our Services & Offerings
This Notice applies to all Housie websites, mobile apps, and proprietary property data tools we operate directly, including:

Web and mobile interfaces providing access to our database architecture and market insights.

Valuation tools and metrics, including “Housie Scores,” which use algorithmic models to synthesize datasets for your use.

Connections with licensed real estate brokers, property managers, or lenders at your direction.

Features for managing technical property identifiers and professional workflows.
This Notice does not apply to:

Services of independent agents, property managers, or lenders (see their privacy policies after you engage them).

Tools provided solely on behalf of business partners not branded as Housie.

Disclosures or rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), or state financial privacy laws where separate notices apply.

Housie job applicants, employees, or contractors.

Future subsidiaries or brands with their own privacy notices.
2. Understing Your Personal Data
“Personal data” means information that identifies, describes, or relates to you or your household, or could reasonably be linked to you. We distinguish personal data from aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be traced back to a specific person or home.
The data we handle reflects the services you choose browsing listings, using analytics, contacting professionals, or managing subscriptions and the Housie Wallet.
3. Personal information We Collect
3.1. Information you provide directly :

Account and profile. Name, email, and credentials; account history for personalization, support, and communications (email, push, or text per your preferences).

Feedback and reviews. Ratings and contact details when you review professionals or services.

Inquiries and support. Contact information and message content from chat, phone, or web forms.

Location. General location from IP; precise GPS if you enable it in device settings for nearby listings and trends.

Subscriptions and marketing. Email for newsletters and promotional content you opt into.

Transactions and Housie Wallet. Billing data for paid tiers and Wallet features. Sensitive payment credentials are processed by encrypted third-party processors; we do not store full card or bank account numbers on our servers. We maintain ledger transaction metadata, tokenized payment identifiers, billing thresholds, and auto-reload parameters to support your Wallet and subscription billing.
3.2. Information from business representatives :

Professional identification, licensing and verification data, business contact details, and partnership inquiry information.

Third-party sign-in (Google, Apple, Facebook) providing basic profile details

Strategic partners (agents, lenders, builders, property managers) regarding interactions relevant to search and service quality.

Service providers (payment confirmations, analytics, operations).

Data and information providers supplementing property records.

Public sources including tax and assessor records, Multiple Listing Services (MLS), and public posts where you have tagged us.
3.4. Information collected automatically :

Usage and commercial insights. Search history, listings viewed, time on features including Housie Scores, clicks, and saved homes used to refine recommendations and proprietary tools.

Technologies. Cookies, pixels, web beacons, embedded scripts, and mobile SDKs for navigation, engagement, and email analytics.

Log data. IP address, browser, ISP, OS, and device identifiers for recognition across devices and technical diagnostics.

Performance analytics. Clicks, form activity, and related signals to improve product quality.

Consent records. Timestamps and related metadata (including IP where required) for text alerts and similar opt-ins.
4. How And Why We Use Your Data

Service delivery. Database operations, geographic analytics, search, and connections with lenders or professionals.

Personalization and Housie Scores. Machine learning and automated processing to customize recommendations and compute Housie Scores from property factors, pricing history, and public records. Scores are informational estimates to help you explore the market; they are not credit, tenancy, insurance, or legal eligibility decisions.

Security. Fraud prevention, abuse detection, and Terms enforcement.

Communications. Support, account notices, and facilitated introductions to professionals you request.

Product development. Research and analytics to improve features and data tools.

Legal and compliance. Obligations, lawful requests, and purposes for which you have provided consent.
5. How we disclose your information

Internal operations. Affiliates and divisions for purposes consistent with this Notice.

Real estate partners. At your direction, contact and relevant search metrics to licensed agents, brokers, property managers, or builders (e.g., to schedule a tour). Once disclosed at your request, their independent privacy practices apply.

Advertising and marketing partners. Limited identifiers for our campaigns; aggregated non-identifying demographics where applicable.

Service providers. Cloud hosting (including AWS), payments, fraud prevention, analytics, and professional advisors under contractual confidentiality.

Corporate transactions. Mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, asset sales, or bankruptcy

Legal and safety. Law enforcement, regulators, subpoenas, litigation defense, and protection of users and the public.

With your consent. Other third parties when you authorize; public reviews remain visible as posted.
6. Data retention and security
We retain personal data only as long as needed for legitimate business purposes, active subscriptions and Wallet billing, or legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it using secure protocols.
We use technical, physical, and organizational safeguards for credentials, tokenized financial entries, and profile data. No system is perfectly secure; use strong passwords and protect your account credentials.
7. Your data rights and choices
Exercising your rightsDepending on your U.S. state (including California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and others), you may have the rights below. We aim to respond to verified requests within 45 days (or as required by law, with notice if an extension applies).
Exercising your rights : Submit requests through Account → Settings → Privacy, our Privacy Request Portal (https://www.housie.com/privacy-request), or privacy@housie.com (mailto:privacy@housie.com). We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request. California residents may use an authorized agent who provides written permission and proof of authorization.

Know and confirm. Whether we process your data and details about categories, sources, purposes, and recipients.

Access and portability. A copy of your personal data in a portable, readily usable format.

Correction. Correction of inaccurate personal data.

Deletion. Deletion of personal data we maintain (not data held independently by third-party professionals contact them directly).

Opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. Direct us not to sell personal data for valuable consideration or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising via our privacy dashboard, Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information (https://www.housie.com/do-not-sell), or Cookie Preferences in the site footer.

Limit use of sensitive personal information. Where applicable, limit use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Services you request (see also Section 8).

Withdraw consent. For sensitive processing or precise geolocation, you previously authorized, via account settings or device permissions.

State-specific disclosure lists. Delaware, Oregon, and Minnesota residents may request lists of certain third-party disclosures by emailing privacy@housie.com (mailto:privacy@housie.com).

Other U.S. state laws. Residents in states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights (including appeal rights in Section 10). Contact us to exercise them.

Non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
Sensitive personal information (all users)We do not sell or share sensitive personal information (such as account log-in credentials or precise geolocation) for monetary or other valuable consideration, and we limit use of sensitive personal information to providing the Services you request, security, and compliance not for unrelated advertising or profiling.
8. California-specific disclosures
8.1. Categories of personal data :

8.2. Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising : Disclosing personal data to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising may be a “sale” or “sharing” under California law. Partners may place cookies and pixels subject to your choices.

Global Privacy Control (GPC). When we detect a valid GPC signal (including the Sec-GPC request header), we programmatically disable cookies and tags used for sale or cross-context targeted advertising in our preference manager for that browser/device.

Opt-out is browser/device-specific; log in before opting out to link preferences to your account where supported.

Shine the Light. California residents may request information about sharing certain categories with third parties for their own marketing by contacting privacy@housie.com (mailto:privacy@housie.com).
We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 for cross-context behavioral advertising without required consent.
9. Children’s privacy
COPPA (children under 13)Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal data from children under 13 consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and our Terms of Use If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact privacy@housie.com (mailto:privacy@housie.com). We will promptly delete such data and terminate associated credentials.
Service eligibility (18 and older) Account registration, transactional features, and the Housie Wallet require users to be at least 18 per our Terms. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18 for account-based Services. If we learn an account was created by someone under 18, we will delete associated personal data and close the account.
Minimization We apply tracking minimization on entry points intended for adult real estate consumers to reduce inadvertent collection from minors.
10. Appeals framework
If we deny your privacy request and your state provides an appeal right, email privacy@housie.com (mailto:privacy@housie.com) with subject line Privacy Appeal Request, include your original request reference, and explain why you believe the decision should be reversed. We will respond within applicable state timeframes.
11. Updates to this policy
We may update this Notice as our platform and legal requirements evolve. Material changes will be communicated by email to your account address and/or a prominent notice on our website. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision. Continued use after notice constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Notice, subject to applicable law.
12. MLS & listing data
Listing photos, descriptions, history, tax, and boundary data may be supplied by regional MLS organizations and public record sources under display and consumer-protection rules. In connection with MLS data you access through Housie:

Data is for your personal, non-commercial use in connection with a bona fide interest in buying, selling, or leasing real property.

You may not scrape, bulk download, redistribute, or retransmit MLS content except as necessary to evaluate a specific property.

Each MLS retains ownership of its database; display is subject to applicable MLS rules and our Terms of Use (MLS listing terms).

When you contact a professional or request a showing through Housie, you may establish a consumer-broker relationship as required by local MLS and brokerage regulations

MLS organizations and authorized representatives may access the Services to monitor compliance with display requirements.
13. Other important information
Relationship to Terms of UseThis Privacy Notice governs how we handle personal information. Our Terms of Use (housie-terms-of-use.html) govern your access to and use of the Services, including eligibility, MLS use restrictions, subscriptions, and dispute resolution. If a conflict arises, the document that specifically addresses the topic controls (privacy for data practices; Terms for service use).
AccessibilityWe strive to make this Notice accessible. For alternative formats, contact us through the channels in Section 15.
Automated processing and Housie ScoresWe use automated processing, including machine learning, to generate Housie Scores and property recommendations. These outputs are informational and do not, by themselves, produce legal or similarly significant effects (such as credit approval, lease denial, or employment decisions). We do not use Housie Scores as the sole basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects under applicable profiling laws. You may contact us with questions about how scores are calculated for your account.
14. Electronic communications
Consistent with our Terms of Use (electronic communications) (housie-terms-of-use.html#s20):

Email marketing. Unsubscribe via links in promotional emails or Account → Settings → Privacy.

SMS. If you opt into text alerts, reply STOP to opt out; message and data rates may apply. Transactional and security messages may still be sent where permitted.

Call recording. Support calls and certain facilitated communications may be recorded or monitored for quality, security, and training, where permitted by law. We will provide notice where required.
